Why is my Lenovo Explorer disconnecting after a few minutes?

I've been using my Lenovo Explorer at my house for about a week now and I didn't experience any issues. I even played a few SteamVR games.

This weekend I decided to take my PC to my parents' house and connected up my PC and the WMR headset, but things started to go south. After I plug in the HDMI and USB cables of the headset then everything still works as it should in the cliff house, but after a few minutes the screen goes completely blank and a message in Windows pops up 'USB Device not recognized..'. If I unplug the USB cable and plug it back in it would sometimes detect the headset for a few seconds(I can see the 'look at the floor then left right message') before showing the same message. Only after I restart the PC does it work for a few minutes again.

I've tried plugging in the USB cable into every other USB slot with the same issue. Any advice?

  • There is a more efficient way for you to solve this problem is submitting your question in Feedback Hub.
Feedback Hub is a Microsoft Store app, the download link is here.
Mixed Reality Team can fetch application logs directly by Feedback hub. It is quite helpful for solving your problem. It also lets you provide screenshots. The more info you can give, the better.
