Hello everyone.

The Mixed Reality Forums here are no longer being used or maintained.

There are a few other places we would like to direct you to for support, both from Microsoft and from the community.

The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.

For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.

If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.

And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

How do I watch my own 360 videos in the headset?

I have been able to navigate to and find my videos through the File Explorer app, but when I try to open them I get a generic "we can't play this" error. When I tried to open them via the "Videos" app, they play on a flat screen rather than launching immersive.

Did you figure this out? I've made videos using a 360 camera and editted in Adobe Premiere. The resulting videos work on youtube, facebook, and even are immersive when viewed on pretty much any mobile phone. But not WMR. 360 video is clearly not a first class citizen for the Windows Mixed Reality experience. It should be so easy that my grandma could figure it out: locate the video on a PC, hit play.
