Hello everyone.
The Mixed Reality Forums here are no longer being used or maintained.
There are a few other places we would like to direct you to for support, both from Microsoft and from the community.
The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.
For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.
If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.
And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

Options
Disable 30 min time-out before going to sleep
I want to attach the HoloLens to a rig and want it run for ~8h unattended, powered from the USB power supply. (No human interaction for more than 30 min)
However, there is time-out in the device portal, under Sleep-Settings, that only offers the values for "When plugged in, turn off after" from 3 min to 30 min.
I need to set the sleep time on the order of 8 hours or infinite. There seems to be no difference for Developer Edition and Commercial Edition.
Microsoft, can you please change this? Or is there a workaround?

Have you tried editing the option of the select in the DOM? Just an idea, maybe they do not check it before setting.
Edit: Well, it worked for me. Let me know if you need any assistance how to do it.

Interesting: there are even more options in the /api/power/cfg/SCHEME_CURRENT? response available than are shown on the webpage.
Someone should try to find out how to use them...
I found an earlier duplicate of my question, with the same method. If you set timeout to 0 it will never go to sleep:
https://forums.hololens.com/discussion/6624/prevent-hololens-from-going-to-sleep
In the official documentation, there is no information:
https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/mixed-reality/device_portal_api_reference
However, here is a Unity-script that can set the sleep timers from the HoloLens. Great!
