Hello everyone.

The Mixed Reality Forums here are no longer being used or maintained.

There are a few other places we would like to direct you to for support, both from Microsoft and from the community.

The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.

For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.

If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.

And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

Can multiple developers use the same device?

We are considering purchasing one at the office. But multiple developers are planning to work with it. Do we need to purchase one for every developer who will work with it? Or can we share a single (or a few) devices among the devs.

I ask this because I assume it has to be tethered to an account to be developed with, and I want to make sure we can tether it to more than one without headache.

  • Thanks!

We bought 2 and set them up with newly created microsoft accounts. The only change we have to make when another developer uses them is the IPD value which each developer just remembers and can enter in on their own through the device portal.

The account setup for the device is really just for the store, I don't really see any other use for it currently.
