Using shared holographic experience between HoloLens and Kinect

Hi,

I'm quite curious, would it be possible to use the shared holographic experience across the HoloLens and the Kinect? I want a user to interact with a hologram through the HoloLens. At the moment, i want the Kinect to record this interaction (user and hologram) from the side.

Might this be possible?

Totally possible. There's a project on Github called Infrared that does a lot of this for you: https://hololens.reality.news/how-to/add-full-body-motion-tracking-hololens-with-kinect-0174419/ Keep in mind, though, that Kinect works much better face on than it does from the side. It was designed to be used in your living room in front of an xbox + TV configuration.

I've tried this. I got the Kinect to work, connect with the Sharing Service and recognize my body movements. But when I open the app on the HoloLens, nothing happens. It doesn't even connect with the Sharing Service.

@james_ashley Never mind. I got it to work, thanks!

I know this is a Hololens forum, but wouldn't it be cool to combine the Kinect's power to make those holograms with that projector they used to do that Tupac hologram performance at coachella a few years ago?
