Hello everyone.

The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.

For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.

If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.

And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

Can you force an app to restart during onResume?

I'm working in Unity creating a hololens app and I'd like to be able to completely restart my app if the user comes back from a suspended state.

For example the user is trying the app, bloom gestures back to the shell menu, then reloads the app. The app will resume from it's suspended state.

Is it possible to tell the app to restart instead of resume?

  • I want to know this too. does anyone have an idea?

  • Try this... in Start() -> UnityEngine.WSA.Application.windowActivated += Application_windowActivated;

    private void Application_windowActivated(UnityEngine.WSA.WindowActivationState state)
    {
    if (state == UnityEngine.WSA.WindowActivationState.CodeActivated)
    {
    //when back to app
    //restart unity app
    }
    else if (state == UnityEngine.WSA.WindowActivationState.Deactivated)
    {
    //when bloom gesture
    }
    }

    Hope this helps :wink:
