WMR controller won't enter pairing mode

I've used my WMR controller previously with no issue, however I recently went to set them up again and one of my two controllers will not enter pairing mode (holding the button inside the battery cover for three seconds). The other controller had no issue.

I followed the Device Recovery procedure here (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/mixed-reality/enthusiast-guide/troubleshooting-windows-mixed-reality#device-recovery) and it seemed to work fine, but the controller still will not enter pairing mode.

I've also tried swapping to fresh batteries but that didn't help. No idea where to go from here.

I'm using a Lenovo WMR headset, though considering this issue is just between the WMR controller and the bluetooth connection on my PC, I doubt the headset matters in this case.

  • @benz145 Exact same issue here. Also seemed to complete device recovery/ factory reset successfully, but still no luck when keeping the pairing button down - LEDs just stay lit. Works fine with the other controller. Any progress on your end?
