Emulator hangs while loading scene with downloaded models
Hi,
I am a Windows apps developer and new to Unity 3D. I am trying to place some avatar and real world models like furniture in my hololens app. When I run the project, as soon as I load the scene which has a animated model or other prefab objects downloaded from Unity asset store, the Hololens emulator hangs. I am not able to Gaze through and mimic any gestures.
If I stop the project then everything comes back to normal.
Anyone please help to resolve this.
Dev machine Information:
Windows 10 Enterprise - 64 bit
OS build 10586.318
Processor: Intel core i3 2.50GHz
8GB RAM
Thanks,
Sathiya

@sathiyasankar what are your build settings?
Are you setting the build as:
Release
x86
and running doing a "Start without debugging" ?When you say the emulator hangs, do you see your models appearing in the emulator and the problem is that you are having problems interacting with the emulator? If so double check that the emulator Toolbar has "Human Input" button is selected and not the "Keyboard" button. (That one has bit me a few times)
However, if you are not seeing the models or are experiencing some other sort of "hang"...
Have you successfully deployed and run this project to the emulator with fewer or lest complex models?
Perhaps remove the new models from the hierachy and start with a simple 3D cube from the unity create menu and make sure that the problem is not due to an overly large and complicated or somehow problematic model. Then slowly start to iterate between running and adding back your downloaded items to narrow down where the problems start.
Tell us more about what has been working in your environment and what you have done so far to debug the problem so that we can better understand your particular situation. If you think a visual will help, grab an image with the Windows Snipping Tool and save and attach it to your message.

Great @HoloSheep Thanks for your quick reply.
Changing the build to Release mode and running without debugging fixed it.
So, this means I can't debug the code? If I have to debug, is there a way to do it without this hang issue?
Thanks,
Sathiya
