There are a few other places we would like to direct you to for support, both from Microsoft and from the community.

The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.

For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.

If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.

And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

Help us get UX right for the end user!

Hello Halographic Developer Forum!
Great to meet all of you.
I just wanted to test the waters out by putting out a message about an upcoming community event around Augmented Reality on March 22. The name of the event is Commercializing Augmented Reality: Startup Showcase & Executive Panel and it will be happening in Palo Alto, doors open at 5:30. You can email me at emily.breslin@sap.com if it sounds interesting. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/augmented-reality-for-the-enterprise-sap-startup-innovation-showcase-tickets-21322670682
There are so many conversations happening around this topic, and so much work to do! Here's what we are looking at the evening of the event:
Challenges in UX: it is yet another type of user interaction, and there are still many gaps to be filled and opportunities to be embraced. Designers need to ensure they are not bombarding users with unnecessary information for the sake of using trendy technology. Keep it simple! And we need your help!

    Emily,

Consider also that you need a totally different kind of designer from the ones currently in the industry. The language you are using comes from web design, I think, but don't we actually need industrial designers for AR?

Hi, I'll be heading down to Austin for SXSW. I'm a UX designer and UX future design theorist by trade so this looks really cool. Love to meet up and discuss. I know sometimes Microsoft has a presence down at SXSW. I Was hoping some of the holo team might be there. I would love to get some face time and discuss more detailed specifics about the capabilities, limitations, and limitations we should impose.

I am in South Carolina so I won't make it but I have given many talks (including one at MIT) on this subject and am glad to hear it is a focus for your event. So many devs do not understand that the UI and UX choices they make are snowballs that can become avalanches.
