Hello everyone.

The Mixed Reality Forums here are no longer being used or maintained.

There are a few other places we would like to direct you to for support, both from Microsoft and from the community.

The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.

For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.

If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.

And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

Hardware Support

What kind of support can you get for a physically broken hololens? Someone was wearing it..and when they took it off pulled the right rear quarter section past it's operational limit...the plastic internally looks cracked, although whatever elastic component that is in there is still holding up.

  • In the book they provide the link www.hololens.com/support/warranty hope this helps some.

  • Pretty much I'm on my own ;) ...which is what I thought...

Wow, they really tore the side. Like most warranties, they cover manufacturing defaults, but a user breaking something isn't covered. That kind of thing is usually only covered by electronics insurance.

  • Yeah, you think that it would have had more support though...it was a confluence of the right angle and pressure I guess. It's what I get for letting other people try it on. It appears to be a sturdy device...not so much I guess.
