HoloLens Emulator 10.0.11082.1039 won't start because of available memory

I am finishing up Chapter 1 on the Holograms 101 tutorial and can’t start the emulator. I get an error saying not enough memory is available in the system to start an emulator that uses 2048 MB of startup RAM.
I am running a Surface Pro 3 with Win10 Enterprise 64-bit, 8 GB of RAM.

  • The question is: what can I do to get the emulator to work?

  • In this case typically what I do is launch the emulator as the first application after I boot my PC. You can refer to this thread for a command-line to help out with this feat: https://forums.hololens.com/discussion/236/running-emulator-directly. Once the emulator is up and running, then you can launch your other development tools. Another option is to run the emulator on a different machine and connect to it via its IP address using "Remote machine" in the Visual Studio deploy step.
