FoV floating when I close eyes...

edited June 2016 in Discussion

Is anyone else seeing the FoV when closing your eyes… hours after using the device? I’ve only been using it for 3 days and no more than 7-10 min at one time, but I’m seeing artifacts of the FoV rectangle floating in the dark when closing my eyes.

Perhaps this is subconscious as having used the device, I’m aware of the FoV, but curious to hear if others experienced something similar.

I've spent hours a day in the past month developing on the device and I can't say I've experienced that. Same for other developers on the team.
Could be your subconscious. Your brain might be telling you it wants to experience more HoloLens

  • I can imagine this 1) if you're using it in the dark, and/or 2) if you're also using a computer monitor, which may have similar dimensions. As you maybe already know, prolonged exposure to any light tends to leave a temporary after-image, and this can be subtle.
