A million dollar idea for Hololens. Is there anyway to profit from the idea?

So basicly I have, atlas in my mind, a pretty good idea for an app for hololens. I would buy it in a heartbeat. Is it possible to somehow, I don't know, "register" the idea and let someone else do the actual design? I'm so excited about my idea that probably sooner or later will just blurt it out but for now the idea of profiting from it also interest me.

I don't think we're equipped to give legal or financial advice. :) A list of agencies who have been creating apps for HoloLens is listed on the commercial site for HoloLens. You could consider contacting them and seeing what they charge.

@FoxMulder: the world is full of great ideas - the tricky part is designing and building the application, marketing and supporting it.

It's important to be realistic - application developers are often contacted by people with pitches like yours - great ideas that just "need someone to build it". If you really think the idea is that great - raise the money and hire a team to build it for you. If you're not willing to put your money on the line, then you shouldn't expect others to put in their time.

I believe that a lot of great ideas are born in the minds of creative people that aren't necessarily capable of making them real. The real question to be asked is: Is there a known path to follow in order to achieve profits out of the idea and if so what is it?

    • Can I sell my app to users, if I'd invest in building it? how does it work?
    • if my app causes thousands of people to buy HoloLens systems would I be rewarded in any way?
    • what is my incentive to actually pursue the idea into development?
