The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.

For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.

If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.

And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

Looking for more information on how Microsoft films content with 3D capture technology.

I am curious to find out where I can learn more about the 3D capture technology that Microsoft has been using to film the weightlifting guy and the new content for Actiongram. Also, is there some setup that I would be able to rent or buy down the road? I'm looking to play around with filming and uploading content into an app.

Would love to get some ideas, thanks everyone!

This is the only published explanation so far:

However, you can also do a lower grade video using DepthKit, and Kinect cameras.

You can replicate the recording and meshing part with photogrammetry setups and software like Agisoft and Reality Capture.
Replicating the mesh compression and streaming technology that Microsoft did is the more brilliant part and would be very difficult to replicate though.
