Limit Spatial Mapping Mesh Rendering

How do I limit the rendering of spatial mapping mesh rendering. Basically at any point in time, I only want the rendering to be the same size as the extents I've set on the SpatialMappingObserver not the accumulation of everything I've scanned.

    To clarify, I know there are clipping pane settings on the main camera that allow me to do this, but would this still affect performance?
