Hello everyone.

The Mixed Reality Forums here are no longer being used or maintained.

There are a few other places we would like to direct you to for support, both from Microsoft and from the community.

The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.

For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.

If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.

And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

I have a damaged Hololens, please help!

Hi guys,

I'm currently owning a Microsoft Hololens - Developer Edition, serial number: 001063462356
I bought this glasses on Amazon US and have it shipped to Vietnam around April 2017
Until now, my Hololens has stopped working, unable to turn on and charging it make it become very hot.
The unit can't be recognized by Windows recovery tool.
This incident made me barely sleep for weeks.

Microsoft has contacted me and said this was a hardware related issue (Case Reference #: 118090818963615 - HL not powering up)

They said that my exception request* (approval of exception request for device replacement) has not been approved and they refuse to provide me any kind of support related to my Hololens because:

"HoloLens development edition has no hardware warranty"

I think that Microsoft would have support for developers with good enough reason and make some exceptions - as I'm still on my way to do some of my first Mixed Reality Projects on Hololens. We're just a bunch of college students, the cost of a new Microsoft Hololens is beyond my capabilities of paying (even for a second hand one). Please help!
