Can I use the emulator to estimate FPS on device?

My desktop has a high end GPU and I'm worried that the FPS measured in the Emulator is going to be way better than what is achievable on Device

Is there a way to have the gpu rendering in the emulator lock to the expected performance of the actual HoloLens device?

To my knowledge if you're using the HoloLens emulator you will be getting similar results, however, if you are just running it in a Windows simulation the results may not transfer. I maybe wrong, but that's what I understand.
