What minimum size does the adjust function resize?

edited July 2016 in Questions And Answers

Users can go into adjustment mode by clicking the "Adjust" button on any app's app bar or saying, "Adjust". In adjustment mode, users can resize app tiles.
What minimum size does the resize function adjust? Can I resize 4 x 4, or 16 x 16?

All 2D UWP apps will run at 853x480 effective pixels on the HoloLens, regardless of window size, so this is what you should design for (see this page for more info).

Our of curiosity, I took a tape measure and measured the 'System' app at it's min, default and max sizes. This is what I got (very rough estimates):
    Min: 8.5"h x 12.5"w
    Default: 27.5"h x 42.5"w
    Max: 66"h x 105"w

The default size is best viewed ~2-3 meters from the user, the min size looks best when viewed ~1 meter away, and the max size requires that the user be very far away to see the entire thing (~5-8 meters).
