Does Shader Forge work well with HoloLens?
The Holotoolkit has shaders built for the Hololens but my question is that is there anyone making there own shaders in Shader Forge for the HoloLens?

Advise from some co-workers:
You can definitely use Shader Forge, but one thing to keep in mind is that it doesn’t target mobile devices by default.
If you’re using it for anything where you’re trying to maximize performance, recommend giving this guide a look when you’re ready to finalize things.
Also, some things that Shader Forge allows you to create are not supported by the device. Refraction, for example, is not supported – I believe any sort of refraction or screen space blurring/sampling (using the SceneColor node) use Unity’s _grabPass function, which are not supported by the current version of HoloLens.
Please do let us know if you discover anything else that doesn’t work.

@Terry_Bennett_Dev,
The art team for Origami (Holograms 101) used Shader Forge for part of the explosion effect.Shader Forge is an awesome tool for customizing visuals, but as Neeraj mentions, if you run into some performance issues, you might need to tweak the shader properties to help with optimization (you can look at the HoloToolkit-Unity shaders for examples). Transparency can be costly in Unity (you'll see remarks about this in the asset's review section), so limiting that might be wise.
