Is it possible to install the Hololens emulator on a different drive?

The installer for Hololens wants to install on the C drive. I want to install the emulator on the D drive, but I am not given the option. How can I change the install location?

No because Windows 10 forces of c:\ and because the Hyper-v Manager expects to have Emulator image xde.exe on the system drive.
Installing on D: was a rough hack for servers and 2Gb disks of an decade ago.

SSD drives don't like being system drives as they have a finite number of operations, before they degrade, rotational disks don't have these problems
