Hello everyone.

The Mixed Reality Forums here are no longer being used or maintained.

There are a few other places we would like to direct you to for support, both from Microsoft and from the community.

The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.

For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.

If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.

And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

create an holographic house

Hi, I'm approaching this world since yesterday and I was wondering if it may be possible to create an entire house in hololens, and walk physically into it.
Thank you very much for your availability.

Certainly doable. The main difficulty would be matching the device position with the real user position - using the spatial mapping data could help but there still would be mismatch.

Also, HoloLens apps are 32 bit ones with limited memory so the level of detail would have to be limited, and shading every pixel of the display would be costly - so probably a better option would be to enhance the house with additional artwork or furniture than recreate the whole thing.

Yes, if you have enough free space around you, this is quite possible. It's more of a VR use of the tech, so the same limitations apply.

Thanks, everybody for answering me. I'm going to start my project, hoping to see an hololens 2.0 soon.

I thought about hololens and not vr, because with the last one, you can't see the environment.

    Bye!
