Are there any in-unity methods for optimizing scenes?

My app is starting to take longer to get past the unity logo and it starts freezing up on higher amounts of meshes. I checked out simplygon, but it looks like that only works in maya. is there any way of optimizing my scene in Unity itself? Thanks.
