Best solution for viewing Solidworks models in holographic format on Hololens?

What is currently the best solution for this?

    According to the Solidworks site you have a few compatible file formats that you can export your 3D models into that could then be imported into Unity and displayed in a HoloLens application.

    It looks like:

    • 3DS
    • DXF
    • OBJ
      are all direct options.

    Alternatively if you can find a utility or plug-in to convert your favorite 3D format over to FBX you should be able to import the files into Unity and you would also have the option to use the existing 3D Viewer app on HoloLens instead of creating your own simple app in Unity.
