Object always stick to a fixed position

edited November 2016 in Questions And Answers

So I am following the academy tutorial (with the Origami hologram). Previously I was using an emulator so I don't see any problem with displaying the hologram on screen. But after using the actual device, the hologram seems to be placed on a fixed position; no matter where I run the app, it will always spawn in the same exact position.
I thought it was supposed to instantiated according to where the camera pointed, isn't it?

    @CooperStrike,

    Check the underlying code. If an anchor has been associated with the object, it's going to reappear in the same location in the room between sessions instead of being relative to your start position. (I'm afraid I don't remember if this is in the Origami code, but it sounds as if it is.)

    The initial position where your 3D object (in the case of Origami the Stage) is placed is calculated about the time the "Made with Unity" logo appears when you first run apps.

    After you run the app the first time, if you bloom to exit the app and leave the app window pinned at the same location in your environment, the app will still be running (suspended) and maintain the same original location. Even launching the app again from the menu and a new window results in displaying the already running instance of the app.

    To instantiate a new initial location all over again, you need to close down all instances by either Removing the app windows for that app from your environment or by killing the app in either the Device Portal or the HoloLens Companion App:
