The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.
For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.
If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.
And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

Visual studio deployed keeps trashing local state!
Using the windows APIs, I am placing important user documents and files in the app data folder (localState). However, whenever I build and run to the device, more often than not, I see a message like "creating a new clean layout", and then all my files are gone! This is making debugging really challenging since I have to keep manually copying my user files off of the device to ensure that I don't lose them. It's also making me paranoid that this is going to happen to my actual users at random times during app updates and what not. Windows 10 APIs could stand to be slightly less bad.
Is there anyway to prevent this from happening, it's very frustrating.

Have you checked to see if the following setting is turned off in your project's Debug settings?
Windows Holographic User Group Redmond
WinHUGR.org - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - @WinHUGR
WinHUGR YouTube Channel -- live streamed meetings
I almost got excited, alas C++ shows no such option (I'm not using C#)
So I guess this isn't possible? If so, MS, this needs to be an option.
This is starting to REALLY mess up almost every aspect my development/testing. There HAS to be a way to stop this from happening!!!! Anyone at MS!? Help!?
