Emulator unable to set VHD on the VM

When launching the emulator I've gotten this error message several times; the only way around it I've found is to uninstall/reinstall the MS Emulator completely, then it seems to work fine for a while. Any ideas?

The emulator is unable to set the VHD on the virtual machine.
Couldn't change the Virtual hard drive on the__ virtual machine: "Hololens Emulator 10.0.11082.1039.MYNAME" failed to add device "Virtual Hard Disk"

    On a related note, when I open Hyper-V and manually start the HoloLens vm, I see the additional info:

    This did not work for me.
