Providing dynamic updates to a hologram from my PC

Hi

I want to make a simple app where my computer can publish locations dynamically, and update the location of a hologram for a person wearing the HoloLens. I suppose one way to do this would be to do what's outlined in tutorial 240 except with one device and one emulator? Except that my surface pro3 is not powerful enough to run the emulator. Do you guys have any suggestions on how I can go about doing this?

I am a complete newbie here. I just got the HoloLens yesterday and am completing the tutorials one by one, will appreciate any help I can get. :)
