HoloLens Companion v2 released on GitHub and renamed to Windows Mixed Reality Commander

I am happy to announce that the code for HoloLens Commander version 2 has been released in the HoloLens Companion Kit on GitHub. This version has been renamed to Windows Mixed Reality Commander (the executable name remains as HoloLensCommander) and has added several new features and fixes.

New features:

  • Support for monitoring and managing Windows PCs as well as HoloLens devices.
  • New device connection options, including attaching to a specified WiFi access point.
  • New control over the Select All and Select None buttons (All devices, HoloLens only, Windows PC only).
  • Device list entries indicate device type and filter functionality accordingly.
  • Ability to specify application certificate and dependency packages when installing.

Fixes:

  • User interface responsiveness has been improved.
  • User interface layout (ex: Mixed Reality View) has been improved.
  • Application installation now works with binaries from the local hard drive, not just removable storage.

We hope you enjoy this version and look forward to feedback and contributions on GitHub.

Thanks!
David
