Hello everyone.

The Mixed Reality Forums here are no longer being used or maintained.

There are a few other places we would like to direct you to for support, both from Microsoft and from the community.

The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.

For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.

If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.

And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

Any method to get a HoloLens earlier?

Hololens Dev Team,

We have received an invitation to Wave 4 and we are excited and appreciative!

But Houston we have a problem.. We have our major products show in August where we would like to show a pre-view concept using HoloLens to our industrial customers. We would like to get some feedback early in our development process and this is great venue. However, based on the 2-3 months per wave we would be out of luck!

Is there any method to petition to get moved up to an earlier wave to have a chance?

I wouldn't ask, but our show is every two years.. so otherwise we would have to wait till August of 2018!

If there is any chance, please let us know! We would be happy to provide details of the application, the booth layouts, and the opportunity.

I posted here since I don't have a method to reach you otherwise (that I am aware of).

Thanks in advance for the consideration.

I would try reaching out to a wave 1 developer that might like to partner with you to gain exposure. Work with the emulator to prototype and then pay for them to come to your event and share the device.

I would imagine that with the SDK and emulator you can get a Proof of Concept to market and then borrow a HoloLens when its needed.

The only option is to find someone who is already admitted to an earlier wave.

... and take it from them?

Or if you just need a hololens domain name.
