Worked before upgrading windows 10...

edited May 2016 in Questions And Answers

Fails to deploy after successful build with following error:
DEP6957 : Failed to connect to device '192.168.1.114' (device local ip) using Universal Authentication. Please verify the correct remote authentication mode is specified in the project debug settings. 0x8007274C: The network event being waited on triggered an error.

I had my dev environment setup perfectly on windows 8.1 for the past 3 weeks, didn't have any problems deploying to the device over USB. Now after upgrading I cannot deploy to the hololens, but builds are successful.

After wiping the hard drive, installing windows 10 fresh, intall VS with update 2, install win 10 development packages in VS, install the latest beta unity 5.4.0b16-HTP (8b4340e08ab1), install UWP Runtime, setup Unity settings based on the getting started info, and how it was before upgrading, it fails to deploy to the hololens. It compiles successfully.

I tried Debug and Release, x86, Device, and when plugged in via USB it says failed to

I set it to Holographic in the app manifest:

I tried:
-Reset Hololens to factory default
-Enable Developer mode on hololens and laptop
-Pair to my laptop
-Setup remote connection to my hololens IP, both computer and hololens are on same network.

-I uninstalled the win 10 software dev kits and re-installed per one thread I read.
-I tried deploying in debug mode as per another thread I read.

In "Programs and Features" the win 10 software dev kits installed are:
Windows Software Development Kit - Windows 10.0.10586.212
Windows Software Development Kit - Windows 10.0.26624

The error in VS is attached.

@LeefromSeattle, You are correct, you must pair in Visual Studio.

    Thanks!
