Cannot RDP connect to machine that has an Acer MR headset plugged in

I have an the Acer headset connected to my office computer. When I try connecting to that machine via RDP from home, RDP will connect but will not be responsive and will auto-disconnect after about 1 minute. If the headset is unplugged from the USB and HDMI ports, RDP connections work like a charm (no reboot required).

I use RDP from home often. Remembering to unplug the headset before I leave the office is a pain. Is there something else I could try?
