Mixed Reality Controllers and HoloLens
Hello,
Is anyone tried the mixed reality controllers with HoloLens. The documentation indicates that it's not supported but there are few things that leads me to think it can (partially) work.
- It's a Bluetooth device
- InterractionManager can reports data from those controllers
- The IR camera is able to track the leds
I understand that the positional tracking is maybe not implemented (but why? What are the limitations?), but do you think that it can be used as a 3 DOF controllers? Using the IR video frame, it's maybe possible to add positional tracking right?

The controllers are tuned for the IR cameras on the MR devices -- which are likely differently positioned and timed than the HoloLens cameras. The underlying tracking algorithms would probably have to be rewritten to work with HL, on which the cameras are positioned differently.
It would definitely be cool to have hand controllers for the HoloLens, but for now your best bet for fine control is the xbox one controller.

Hi,
Thank you for you answer. I understand.. It's still possible to pair them to the HoloLens but buttons are not working. As you said, hand controllers could be Awesome, maybe for the next generation.
