Hello everyone.

The Mixed Reality Forums here are no longer being used or maintained.

There are a few other places we would like to direct you to for support, both from Microsoft and from the community.

The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.

For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.

If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.

And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

Which Unity version should I use?

I'm working now since I've gotten the Hololens a few months back with the 5.4 technical preview. But today I saw that the new Unity Beta 5.5.0 has some improvements for the Hololens. Does that mean, that I can use this Beta for the Hololens? The Unity page for Hololens still tells me that I should use the preview from August which is kinda "old" now. Here are the Beta news : https://unity3d.com/unity/beta/unity5.5.0b10

I tried 5.5 for about a day and then moved back to 5.4. Too many issues with basic things like UI. Also, crashes quite often so was a no can do for me.

Yeah, I'm just wondering whether I could use 5.5.0 or not. Hopefully, someone tried that already :)

Thanks for the information. So basically, it would work but it's not stable enough for efficient use.

It is not stable enough for a release. If you were to give it a try make sure you duplicate your project. I did not do that and wasted some time on the rollback. Then you have to clean your project properly or you are facing hours of painful development.
