Livestream from HoloLens to Win10 Device as part of an App (UWP)
Hello,
i want, that the user of the Win10 Device is able to see exactly what the HoloLens is seeing. How do i connect both devices with the HoloLens as the Server, and how do i stream to my Win10 device?
Do you have any suggestions?
PS: A pure streamingservice is not what i am searching for, because i also want to send other data through this connection.
Thanks in advance.

@athi,
This functionality is exposed in the device portal API: https://github.com/microsoft/windowsdeviceportalwrapper
Here is the API documentation: https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/holographic/device_portal_api_reference
If you are proficient in C++, you can also have a go at the hololens remoting API: https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/holographic/add_holographic_remoting

Thanks for your answer,
but does the device portal also work on a non-local network? I thought not.
I tried the SharingService from the HoloToolkit, it worked localy, but not on a non-local network. Or do i miss something?
@athi,
You can flip the paradigm and set up your Win 10 machine as a mobile hotspot. This will get you the direct connection you are looking for.

What do you mean by saying "flip the paradigm"?
(Are we talking about the device portal or the SharingService?)

I am sorry for this. My Internet crashed while posting
@athi,
I mean have the PC host the connection rather than the HoloLens. This is my usual set up for doing live presentations so I don't have to rely on hotel wireless connections. It will let you do a livestream from your hololens device to the PC.
