The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.
For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.
If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.
And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

Uploading a C# script into Hololens without Unity
I want to establish a TCP connection between the Hololens and my computer and send some data from Hololens. I do not require any game objects in my application. Is Unity required to enable this application which sends data from Hololens to laptop? Is there sample code available to do the same.

Actually if it is a straight UWP app and not a Unity app the compiler directives are not required.

There's a provided Visual Studio template for a holographic directX 11 UWP app, and this would be the simplest direct route to add simple code and get data transferred. No middleware in this approach.
