The Mixed Reality Forums here are no longer being used or maintained.
There are a few other places we would like to direct you to for support, both from Microsoft and from the community.
The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.
For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.
If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.
And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.
Dev documentation has moved!
Many of you have noticed that links to the "Windows Holographic" Dev Center aren't working. To better align to our Windows Mixed Reality strategy, allowing developers to build apps for both HoloLens and immersive headsets, we moved our documentation to https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/mixed-reality/.
We're working on getting our redirects from the old site fixed, but unfortunately it won't do page-to-page redirects. So, when you visit pages at the old URLs, you'll be redirected to the "Windows Mixed Reality" landing page where you can use the "All pages" link to find the article you were looking for.
We're sorry for the inconvenience, but this better positions all of us for a broader range of device types you can target with Windows Mixed Reality experiences

Open the link to Developer - Mixed Reality - All Pages
This is an alphabetical map of all (currently 144 pages).
In browser like Edge (Control +F keys) Find and type in e.g. Spatial to get you quickly to the new link you need.
You will need to create a new set of Favourites(Favorites) links folder in browser for Frequently used pages like the new Windows Mixed Reality - Install the tools
will get you started and keep updated.
Visual Studio 2017 is not officially supported in HoloLens yet, ONLY use Visual Studio 2015 Update 3
Why didn't you guys create a 302 redirect? All the Bing/Google search results are now dead.
Unfortunately the change also seems to have broken hundreds of embedded links in the threads of this forum.
Real shame to have wasted so much of the last year of effort put in by many members of the HoloLens community to explain and direct others to the right information by breaking all of those links.
It seems to go beyond just an "inconvenience" and it is somewhat debatable as to whether it improves our positioning when so much previous effort has been made less useful.

+1 lots of folks having to dig up & fix lots of blog posts, presentations, etc. I'm all for doing what's best in the end so I'll change my posts at least, but all MS did was to change from
https://developer.microsoft.com/de-de/windows/holographic/academy
to
https://developer.microsoft.com/de-de/windows/mixed-reality/academy
I'd assume this would not be terribly difficult to 301 redirect - but I don't know all the facts.

Hi. I am looking for C++ API for gesture recognition. No Unity nor Vuforia nor other sdk-s please. Thanks for your help. Is this it ? https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/uwp/api/windows.ui.input.spatial
The documentation you need did move now at Gaze and gestures in DirectX C++
@HoloSheep Just tried some of my old postings links and they now redirect to the new location of pages.
The manual update of GitHub pages to the new URL seems to be complete.
@Jimbohalo10, it does look like @MattZ 's team has responded and done some work to get some redirects working.
While checking a few of my own previous posts, I have noticed however that there are a few variations that are still slipping between the cracks.
For example the old pages seem to have sometimes displayed a capitalized US in the language portion of the url:
https://developer.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/holographic/locatable_camera
vs
https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/holographic/locatable_camera
The lower case versions of the link seem to redirect correctly but the capitalized one is currently choking.
Nice to see that many of the links are working again.
