Does someone already use hololens in sun?

edited April 2017 in Discussion

I have used hololens in a open field and at sun (aproximately 30ºC or 86ºF) at middleday.
the hololens restarted twice when it tried to map the space.

does it already happen with someone else?
what may/can cause this problem?

regards.

The HoloLens has very tight heat constraints, so my guess is that the sensors thought the device was overheating. Mapping itself is a highly intensive process that would cause the hardware to heat up, so coupled with a warm day, that would probably trigger a restart.
Via the official documentation "If HoloLens exceeds its thermal capabilities, the foreground application will be shut down to allow the device to cool off"
