How long does it take to learn Unity?

My boss bought 2 Hololens'. I'm to develop an app for use at work. I have no Unity or scripting experience. Is it possible to be develop app ready within a few months? I mean from concept to actual working app for the Hololens.

If you go through the tutorials on the Holographic Academy and access the Unity resources, you'll be able to make /something/ in a few months. I can't assert that you would be able to make something complete in a few months. It depends on what you are being asked to build and your current skill set. Familiarity with the concepts of a game engine (game loop, materials, meshes), familiarity with 3D math (transforms, vector math), familiarity with C#, and your grit will all impact how long it will take until you are ready to make something you'll be proud to show your boss.

I will say that having a project is probably the most beneficial asset when trying to learn.
