Hello everyone.
The Mixed Reality Forums here are no longer being used or maintained.
There are a few other places we would like to direct you to for support, both from Microsoft and from the community.
The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.
For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.
If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.
And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

Are there any UI Design Patterns or best practices guides?
Hi there,
Our team is looking into getting started with HoloLens and waiting for its delivery .
I had a look at the documentation on designing MR could only find 'Designing Holograms'.
Are more detailed UI design patterns libraries or Dos and Don'ts out there that will help us avoid common UX mistakes?
Thank you for replies and redirects.
Cheers,
Christian

Here are some which I've found useful.
https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/holographic/directx_development_overview
https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/holographic/rendering_in_directx
Note that there are additional links on those pages which I didn't list separately but which are also very informative.
Here's another one:

Also, the Galaxy Explorer is a direct example of some principles of Holographic UI. Some thought has apparently been exerted to decide on their approaches.
