Hello everyone.
The Mixed Reality Forums here are no longer being used or maintained.
There are a few other places we would like to direct you to for support, both from Microsoft and from the community.
The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.
For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.
If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.
And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

Holographic images / Footage
Will it be possible to use holographic footage? Could you create the effect of an actual person standing in front of you (Not an animation)
If not can we use something that has this quality? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGbrFmPBV0Y
I am involved in an educational project that would really benefit from this if either of these scenarios were possible.
Thank you for any info!

It is definitely possible to have holographic footage which is viewed through the HoloLens. This was actually demonstrated on the very first day that we shared HoloLens with the world, with Terry Myerson being beamed onto stage (as seen through a HoloLens) as a Hologram.

@ChimeraScorn ,
What sort of rig was used to record Terry Myerson? Was it just a flat camera or something that did 3D capture?

It was a 3d capture rig. We will be sharing more about these sorts of systems in the future.
