Hello everyone.
The Mixed Reality Forums here are no longer being used or maintained.
There are a few other places we would like to direct you to for support, both from Microsoft and from the community.
The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.
For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.
If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.
And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

Will it be possible to use WebGL with Hololens?
I am not sure the Windows browser supports WebGL fully, so then I suppose you would need to install Chrome or Firefox; is this possible? If you made an app using WebGL, could it work?

Actually WebGL it is supported by Microsoft Edge as you can understand from this post.
That said my advice would be: proptotype, poc, test, stress test

I have confirmed that edge does support webgl somewhat. However I have also discovered it does not support mouse capture or javascript generators by default. This can be worked around I guess.
But, I still don't have an answer: can webgl be used for writing apps for Hololens?

The HoloJS project allows you to port WebGL apps to HoloLens with minimal changes. Check it out here: https://github.com/Microsoft/HoloJS
