Hello everyone.
The Mixed Reality Forums here are no longer being used or maintained.
There are a few other places we would like to direct you to for support, both from Microsoft and from the community.
The first way we want to connect with you is our mixed reality developer program, which you can sign up for at https://aka.ms/IWantMR.
For technical questions, please use Stack Overflow, and tag your questions using either hololens or windows-mixed-reality.
If you want to join in discussions, please do so in the HoloDevelopers Slack, which you can join by going to https://aka.ms/holodevelopers, or in our Microsoft Tech Communities forums at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/mixed-reality/ct-p/MicrosoftMixedReality.
And always feel free to hit us up on Twitter @MxdRealityDev.

Re: HP mixed reality headset has flashing black screen in mixed reality portal
Thanks @Jimbohalo10. I think you're probably right that the power isn't an issue. I used a USB 3.0 thumb drive and this utility called USBDeview from nirsoft and all four of my USB 3.0 ports show 896 mA. So power likely isn't an issue. http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html Also used this utility with Run As… -
Re: Infrared Scanning for Spatial Mapping
Technically they're already using infrared. There are two components to the Hololens, the spatial mapping and the anchoring. The best I can tell, it uses infrared to scan the environment, and uses the visual camera to track anchor points. So it can certainly keep scanning in the dark, but it will have difficulty tracking… -
Re: Tutorial 211
Hi @RosieLiu, The logic for subscribing and handling Manipulation events is provided in GestureManager.cs. We don't have you do this part in the tutorial, because registering for and handling these events is very similar to what you already did for Navigation. These event handlers are all located in GestureManager.cs, and… -
Re: Loosing WorldAnchors when shifting from Unity editor to deployed version

When the application starts, you will see a big sphere in front of you. Then, you can place the game object (not the sphere) from the… -
Re: Shared experience with Unity
You have a lot of options here. Usually, shared experiences are about multiple users seeing the same holograms in the same place in the physical world via a common coordinate system. That common coordinate system is usually established by using the HoloLens ability to create one or more world anchors representing physical… -
Re: Autodesk Stingray - Experience?
The company I work for has been using Stingray for VR development for quite a while now. I haven't used it for Hololens, but have used it quite a bit for an HTC Vive. I can say that Stingray has a bunch of pros and cons. The Pros are: * Ease of use * Node-based visual scripting, for new programmers or if you don't know how…
