Error 2181038087-7 Blue Screen Then Black

edited April 2018 in Troubleshooting

This error is something I have been dealing with ever since I got my vr and its very annoying, I want to actually play it! Sorry for the rant.

Anyways I have done multiple things in trying to figure this issue out like making sure EVERYTHING is updated, even after making sure everything's updated it still gives me the issue even if I hot swap it. Sometime the whole headset itself wont be recognized after it crashes it sometimes wont reboot and portal says to plug in my headset.

I have a perfectly capable PC I have 2 Gtx 960s Sli not the best but Ive seen lots of people have the same setup and it works great for them. If anyone has a question I will gladly answer! I would hate to have to return the headset and buy from a different company.

Likely reason for error 2181038087-7 is that the Mixed Reality headset driver failed to initialize the firmware on your headset. This is most likely a transient error. Unplugging and re-plugging in your headset should resolve this issue. Please also ensure that you are running the latest Windows Mixed Reality HMD driver. You should use a version later than 10.0.16299.1062.

Besides, this error may also related to your USB 3.0 port. You can try another USB port if possible. Your PC may have multiple USB 3.0 controllers. Also you may check your USB controller's driver and make sure you are using the driver provided by Microsoft.
