Brand new HP machine with Zotac GTX1080 card using HDMI port, Nvidia drivers and Windows software all up to date, Lenovo headset works on multiple other machines.
Note I have also tried a 4K display port to hdmi adaptor to rule out an incompatible HDMI port on the graphics card with the same result.
WMR portal starts, setup completes OK, the but the display is just black with the white dot and when input is redirected to the desktop, the dialog box stating this too. The headset mirroring to desktop window also shows the same black screen, white dot and dialog.
WMR has been un/reinstalled a couple of times but hasn't fixed the issue. Help appreciated thank you.

Since your headset works on multiple other machines, I'd suggest you reinstall the system for your HP machine. If this still not work, you might contact HP support or bring your machine to store to try/replace.
