Bypass Earphones in mixed reality for normal pc speaker sound.

Hi, headphones aren't a great idea this end, and also seem to knock out audio for normal pc use, requiring a reboot after any mixed reality experience.
I'd really rather just rely on my pc's very good speakers.
Is there a way to do this?
I have tried the switches in settings that say something like "use the headphones when..." and that did nothing.
Sure the answer will be simple, but not simple enough for google or bing to know.
