Acer Headset no longer connecting?

I bought the Acer MR headset a couple weeks ago and it ran fine, however recently i cannot get it to work as everytime i try to connect it, the mixed reality portal says "Check your Display Cable". this problem happened after a Blue Screen of Death during a session using the headset. i'm not sure if its the headset or my HDMI out but i don't have access to another viable computer or another monitor to test this right now

Laptop is a Lenovo y50-70. worked perfectly fine (outside of some low framerate on certain programs) for a couple weeks before this started happening. it detects the headset when the USB is plugged in, but the hdmi is not working. i'll add to this later after testing with an additional monitor. oh, and i did try resetting graphical drivers for intel and nvidia. also completely removed nvidia drivers and reinstalled

    after some more troubleshooting with intel drivers i finally got the headset to work, seems like it was a problem with the laptop. If a mod could lock or close this thread that'd be great
