hololens tethered to power
I know the hololens is a standalone device but... Can it be used while plugged in to a power source to extend the usage?

It will work while plugged in and charging, however this is only practical when sitting at your desk and so far the majority of uses are when I am standing up. A hologram is best viewed about three feet away so you have to look off and to the side to see it if sitting at a desk.
Basically, I can only take about 1-2 hours at a time due to the 1.2 pounds of HoloLens on my head so the power lasts just fine.

What about a USB battery style charger like the ones people use to recharge their phones on the go?
Many of them are of a size that will fit in a pocket. Once our devices come in, I was planning on testing sticking one of them in a pocket with a USB cable connecting it to the HoloLens to see if it would continue to charge the HoloLens while in use..

That should work but I wont be the first to try it. I am too concerned about something frying my HoloLens...
