About HoloLens development with Unity 3d 5.4 beta
I'm a newer of Unity.I want to develop HoloLens Apps with Unity 3D.
Which architecture I need to choose,64 or 32 bit?
I'm a newer of Unity 3d. I want to develop HoloLens Apps with Unity 3D.
I follow the below link to configure my machine.
https://developer.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/holographic/install_the_tools
I met the follow issues related with Unity 3d:
1. Which architecture I need to choose for Unity 3d installation,64 or 32 bit?
2. I choose 64 bit now. I tried to get started building holographic apps with Unity.
I met below issues at "Per Project Settings"
From "Build Settings->Other Settings->Rendering->check the Virtual Reality Support" and I added a new Virtual Reality Devices list but I don't see "Windows Holographic" is listed as a supported device. Do I need to connect HoloLens first?
Could you please tell me the reasons? Or how to check the root cause? hardware issue or software issue?

@YangSir_Temp,
If you do not see Windows Holographic after enabling Virtual Reality Support, please double check that you have selected the Windows Store icon in the inspector (the green one) and check Virtual Reality Support.If that does not show Windows Holographic it would appear that you do not have the correct Unity beta installed.
unity3d.com/pages/windows/hololens#downloadYou can use either the 64 or 32 bit versions of Unity. When building in Visual Studio, please select x86.
Thanks!

Hi David,
Appreciate your great supports. I didn't install correct Unity beta build.
I used your suggested build. It's OK now.I can see "Windows Holographic" item.
May I ask one more question? If the created App works well under HoloLens emulator mode, does it mean my hardware and software configurations are OK to do HoloLens development. I need two weeks to get the HoloLens device.
Thanks!
Jimmy
@YangSir_Temp,
Glad to hear you are up and running.
If you are able to successfully create a project in Unity, compile in Visual Studio and run it on the HoloLens emulator, your configuration all set for HoloLens development.
Thanks!
David
